With more than 20 years experience in architectural, interior and custom furniture design, Ricardo has brought his unique blend of transitional styles and cultural elegance to homes throughout the Greater Washington area, across America and around the World. His exclusive clientele reflect the great diversity of inspirations upon which he draws to craft tasteful, vibrant and harmonious living spaces.
Much like his work, Ricardo’s influences are truly international in scope. Raised in South America, Europe and the United States, his well traveled and diverse background naturally provides a framework that allows him to understand and conceptualize the nuances of his clients’ needs and desires. His design inspirations come in many forms, but always start with the personality of each individual client and the functionality that their lifestyle demands.
Ricardo is personally involved in all stages of each project. He consistently strives to balance elegance, lifestyle and wishes of his client, all while creating calming, comfortable and tranquil interiors that please mind, body and soul.
Experience
Ricardo founded Studio Ramos, LLC in 2008, after previously enjoying acclaimed success as a Principal of the design firm Studio Nuovo from 1999-2008. Prior to opening his private practice, Ricardo held positions with top ranked national architectural firms in the Washington, D.C. area including Architectural Interiors, Interior Architects, Greenwell Goetz Architects, DBI Architects, as well as Perkins & Will (Chicago).
Over the past decade, Ricardo’s work has been featured in numerous publications such as Home & Design Magazine, Southern Accents Magazine, Washington Spaces Magazine and the Washington Post. In addition to his featured articles, interviews and critical acclaims, Ricardo has been recognized for his participation in many show houses with the Washington Design Center (Spring 2003, Fall 2004, Fall 2005, Spring 2006, Spring 2007). In 2007 Ricardo was awarded the first place for his entry in the “Typical American Residential Kitchen” competition for the prestigious Vitoria Stone Fair, which takes place annually in Brazil. His design was built to his exact specifications and was displayed in the main pavilion of the exhibition.
He also has served as the VP of Industry Relations for the Interior Furnishings and Design Association (2005), is an Associate Member International Interior Design Association, and Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
A graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Architecture and minor in Interior Design, Ricardo is also fluent in Spanish.
